New Drug Deletes Bad Memories*

"Do you have a really bad memory, or past heartache, that you would prefer to forget?

Researchers at Harvard and McGill University (in Montreal) are working on an amnesia drug that blocks or deletes bad memories. The technique seems to allow psychiatrists to disrupt the biochemical pathways that allow a memory to be recalled." (Live Science)

Wow! That would be sommeethiinng wouldn't it! Being rid of all those bad memories that seem to stick in your mind no matter what. I can definitely think of a couple I'd like to DEL. One interesting thing about this story is that they have already tested it on humans and had somewhat positive results... It will be fascinating to see how this all goes!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it's happening, I know kinda late reading this post, but hey what good comes out of deleting a perfectly natural and God given part of life? I smell controvercy and "Men in Black" all over this drug. I agree, the abuse, like any other drug this will be a quick way to do crap and get a fix to forget it ever hapened, shoot what if i could commit a murder (yes traumatic experience here) and popped this pill to forget all about it? This is one rabbit hole worth going down...

Diosa - In the instance with the murder, you forgetting it, doesn't stop you from being .. "brought to justice". But of course, one could look much deeper at this... with respect to benefits. For example, guys you fought in war, this could help them deal with posttraumatic stress disorder. Also, in the article I mentioned above, accident or rape victims were targets of the drug.

Putting this drug available to the public at large.. well... make it, "over the counter" maybe?? :\
