Even though it's been POURING rain here in Barbados for the last couple days, I managed to get myself out the house and into the movies to catch Simpsons and Ratatouille. To me.. Simpsons was.. generally OK, but really, too short (6.89/10). Movies these days should be at least 1 hr and 30/45mins. Ratatouille was well.. a good kids picture [full stop!!!] (6/10). Certain parts were "lol" funny, others were a bit juvenile. All in all, I'm glad I only paid $10 to watch them both.

As I close this post though I have one thing to say... "spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does, can he sling from a web, no he cant he's a pig, look out he is a spider pig!" L O L!!!

So, this weekend, I had almost given up looking for a funny but now.. on Sunday evening, I received a forward (i.e. email) which perfectly fits the part! Read below!

HER DIARY:

Dear Diary,
On Saturday night, I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a cafe to have some coffee. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment. Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong - he said, "Nothing." I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry.
On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love you, too."
When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched TV; he seemed distant and absent.
Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed. I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep. I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.
My life is a disaster.

Two of the best animated comedies I've ever watched are definitely Shrek 1 and 2. I mean Shrek is kix (kix = laughs), Donkey is kix, Puss-In-Boots is just class and from the time Princess put down that Matrix move in Shrek 1, she had my heart!

Well guess what folks, 3 years are (practically) gone since the last since the last Shrek which means its time for the final one! (Shrek 1 released in 2001, Shrek 2 in 2004) And now 'Shrek The Third' to be released in May 2007!

After digging to a depth of 100 meters last year, Russian scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 1000 years, and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network one thousand years ago.

So, not to be outdone, in the weeks that followed, American scientists dug 200 metres and headlines in the US papers read:
"US scientists have found traces of 2000 year old optical fibres, and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high-tech digital telephone 1000 years earlier than the Russians."

One week later, the Barbadian newspapers reported the following:

"After digging as deep as 500 metres, Bajan scientists have found absolutely nothing. They have concluded that 5000 years ago, their ancestors were already using wireless technology."

OK, so today for some reason I found myself at the notorious YouTube and I must say today I stumbled upon a pretty good vid series! It had me absolutely cracking up and even on the edge of my seat at times. The vids I'm talking aout are the "Chad Vader - Day Shift Manager" episodes. I thought about posting them here however I prefer to avoid the extra page load time. The link to the first episode is here and trust me, this and the subsequent episodes are a much watch (thus far, 3 episodes out & episode 4 premieres on ABC's Good Morning America on Oct 11 - Yes, it's THAT GOOD).

Honestly, this "power to the people" thing in letting just about anyone post vids on the net is... abit worrying.. I mean, there's a lot of crazy funny vids on YouTube and MetaCafe, but gosh are there some horrid ones! Today I also had the "pleasure" of checking out some "dutty wine" clips on YouTube such as .. infact, I won't even go there... but gurls & guys on their heads 'dancing' or rather doing the "dutty wuk".

One imp't point about these vid sites is though that they seemingly get hundreds of vids A DAY and also have probably hundreds of thousands of site hits A DAY. With all this activity (and noting that "Ads by Goooooogle" plague the site) it is no surprise there have been hints that Google (even with its Google Video project in play) is in talks to acquire YouTube (Ref) - the suggested acquisition price in the ball park of $1.6 billion USD.

As one can see, it's big business. Hits these days make a site, as the more hits = more businesses pay to for advertising space on your site which in turn = more $ for you (or/and your biz). I recommend, if you have any bright ideas for a site which could attract tons of people (and which is LEGAL and ETHICAL), do it, get the publicity and *cha *ching, instant cash! Or.. so I read on page 61 in How To Make Cash Fast Online - Poor People's Edition.
