101 uses for a man. It’s a bit of a female-driven list, however it does highlight some of the key jobs us guys are good at, and females, are, generally not-so-good at.

Google’s Chrome OS*

Wednesday, July 08, 2009 8:49:04 AM (GMT Standard Time, UTC+00:00)

Google has taken direct aim at Microsoft’s core personal computer software business, with the announcement of a PC operating system to rival Windows.

The system, based on Google’s Chrome web browser, is designed for all classes of PCs, “from small netbooks to full-sized desktop systems”, and will be available in machines from “multiple” PC makers in the second half of next year, the company said.

Google also promised that the new software would solve many of the frustrations felt by users of Windows-based PCs, from slow start-up times to threats from computer viruses. ...

Google said the Chrome OS would first appear on netbooks in the second half of 2010, and that it was announcing the software now because it had already started discussions with hardware makers that wanted to use it in some their machines.

The new software, based on the so-called kernel, or core, of the open-source Linux operating system, had been designed to run Web-based applications such as those developed by Google itself, the company said, making it the first PC operating system developed from scratch for the internet age. Our Christian charter*

Sunday, July 05, 2009 2:01:01 PM (GMT Standard Time, UTC+00:00)

You’ve all heard these already but I thought a “Bible shot” containing these verses, will be a nice reminder of the commandments we are expected – as Christians - to live by.

“The first of all the commandments is:  ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. And you shall  love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this:  ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:29-31

You can’t want it any clearer than that. Meditate on scripture, it was given for our edification.

Ryanair goes too far*

Wednesday, July 01, 2009 10:05:42 AM (GMT Standard Time, UTC+00:00)

Apparently, popular low-cost airline Ryainair, is set to cut the ‘frills’ they offer once again. This time they are looking to get passengers to carry their own baggage to the plane! As one writer notes, “So there's no dropping things off at the desk, you cart it through security, round the duty-free shops, across the huge expanse of airport, and to the waiting plane.” (Source)

Sounds like fun doesn’t it! Beware..
